    By Soph Ditchfield.

Welsh pop punk icons Neck Deep brought their 2025 tour to Nottingham, and it was a show we couldn't afford to miss.

Touring with the band were One Step Closer and The Wonder Years, each a fantastic addition to an already stellar night.

    ONE STEP CLOSER

    THE WONDER YEARS

It's impossible to be an elder emo and not be a fan of Neck Deep. From their 2010s classic tunes, to their newest success in their 2024 self-titled album, their tracks are pop punk classics, with all the ingredients for a hit that will never age. The set burst into lift with "Dumbstruck Dumf*ck", the band exploding with energy, providing us with another reason for their success and longevity in the scene. Singer Ben Barlow completely captures the attention of the audience, proving himself to be a brilliant frontman.

The setlist continued with "Heartbreak of the Century", straight from the latest record, an emo anthem if there ever was one. The crowd are elated, matching the energy onstage with their crowdsurfing, moshing, and passionate singing of every lyric. Confetti cannons and pyro elevate the set even more, filling Nottingham's Rock City with excitement. "Go Outside!" and "Motion Sickness" follow, the rest of the band playing through flawlessly, each engaging with the crowd, making connections with their fans.

Ending the night with the classic "December", and "In Bloom", Neck Deep closed their set with as much energy as they started, leaving their fans to go home absolutely thrilled. This is a band that has been around for a while, but still have a long way to go. A fantastic show from the pop punk legends, doing themselves and their fans proud.
