Irish hip hop trio Kneecap arrived in Manchester this week to an incredible reception, following the release of their 2024 album Fine Art, and biographical film.
The trio hailing from West Belfast, made up of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí, are known for their political, republican themes, which in the past caused their music to be banned on certain Irish radio stations. Their fans, however, are infinitely passionate about their music, as was clear from the enthusiasm of the audience at their performance in Manchester.
The night started with "3CAG", followed by "ITS BEEN AGES", putting the crowd in the perfect mood for the night ahead, and setting the tone for the rest of the set. Each member of the trio performs with passion, each bringing something unique and necessary to the group, setting them apart from other hip hop acts similar to them. "Thart agus Thart" and "Sick in the Head" followed, the band playing a mix of tracks from both of their studio albums. Their new album Fine Art has so far had great success, and with the push from their biographical film KNEECAP, detailing their rise to fame, the band have been floating around social media, spreading their message further.
If anyone has the chance to catch the trio on a remaining date of the tour, we recommend you do so, for a phenomenal night of meaningful messages and good tunes.
