The infamous Alice Cooper lead his band into Manchester for the Too Close for Comfort Tour, in what would prove to be an incredible show, and a testament to his legacy as one of the Godfather of Shock Rock.
Manchester's AO Arena was brimming with a crowd of all ages, all full of excitement at what was to come. The singer has been active in the industry since 1964, a career spanning multiple bestselling albums, chart topping singles and jawdropping tours. Alice Cooper is known for the theatrical, the eyeliner, the over the top outfits, all of which come together to create a mesmerising performance with influences drawn from horror films and the macabre.
The setlist consisted of a string of hits from 13 of Alice Cooper's successful albums from his discography. Even at 76, Cooper is still a fantastic performer, playing to the crowd with ease, clearly enjoying his time on the stage in Manchester, each member of his band the perfect accompaniment. Classics from the set included "Welcome to the Show", "Poison" and of course "School's Out". The crowd joyously sang along to every word.
There are not many performers at 76 who can still but on a great show, and Alice Cooper shows no signs of stopping any time soon, to the glee of his many fans. This was a fabulous night, and performance, from everyone involved, and is a shock rock experience we'll never forget.
